BAodn membership includes a big discount on Best in the West, our annual conference, access to all the areas of our website, plus entrance to members only events. See our membership page for full details.
If you are a BAodn member, you can get a discount off of your National ODN membership. Last we checked, the discount was $25. See the ODN membership page for full details.
Current BAodn members have access to the member listings, which include current and former members. You can look people up by name, company, and so on.
1. Login to the website.
2. View your profile via the menu bar at “Membership—My Profile.”
3. Click the “Edit” button just below the menu bar.
4. Make your desired changes to your profile. Note the “keep private” checkboxes.
5. Click “Save” near the bottom of the page.
The Career Center is a service offered by BAodn via a partner website called “JobTarget.” For the paid parts of the Career Center, BAodn shares the revenue with JobTarget. This money helps fund BAodn events and operations.
Job seekers can list their resume for free. BAodn members get free access to the job listings and other job search tools. Non-members can get access to those tools for a fee.
Employers and Recruiters can post jobs to the BAodn and JobTarget database. BAodn members can post jobs at a discount. Jobs are listed at many sites on the Internet.
Job seekers
No, but membership has its benefits.
Anyone can post their resume to the Career Center, to be accessed by hiring managers.
As for job seekers, if you are a member looking for a job, you get free access to high quality job listings from “Job Target”, our Career Center partner. Plus you get free access to other job search tools.
For non-members, the “job seeker” part of the career center can be accessed for a fee.
Employers and Recruiters
For “employers and recruiters”, the career center offers discounts for BAodn members who post jobs. It is also accessible to non-members.
BAodn members get free access to the Career Center, provided in partnership with JobTarget.com. Here are the steps to get access.
1. Visit the main Career Center page, accessible from the menu bar at “Community—Career Center.”
2. In the left column “Job Seeker” section click “Create Job Seeker Account.”
3. Fill in your name, password, etc. for a new account.
4. Where it says “Active member” select Yes.
5. For “Member Username” enter your BAodn login name.
6. For “Member Email” enter the contact email that’s in your BAodn profile.
7. Complete the process to Create your account. The JobTarget system will then validate your BAodn username and email, and activate your member access to the BAodn Career Center.
If this isn’t working for you, please contact us at the BAodn office and we’ll help you get this going.
When you list your job with the BAodn Career Center, it goes into the JobTarget jobs database. It is then listed on websites throughout the Internet. Thus you’re not just getting a listing with us, but with many other websites.
If you are a BAodn member and are doing an OD-related event that you’d like to announce, you can post it to our events calendar. This way it also gets included in our monthly events email which goes out to over 1,000 people in the first week of each month.
To post your OD event:
1. Login to the BAodn website.
2. From the menu bar, go to Events—Member hosted events.
3. Click the “Submit to MemberLINK.”
Your event should be posted within a week.
Note: we do occasionally post non-BAodn member events to our calendar that are of general interest to the community. To enquire, please contact us.
Community announcements such as OD internships, shared office space for rent, non-BAodn member OD events, and so on, can be listed on our Community News bulletin board. It can be accessed from the menu bar via Community—Bulletin Board.
To post your event, just log in with your account. You don’t need to be a BAodn member to post a community announcement—past members and people only on the mailing list can post, too. If you don’t have an account, you can get one for free by joining the mailing list.
Note: For job listings other than internships, we request that you use the BAodn Career Center, rather than the Community News bulletin board.
To post a job, please visit the BAodn Career Center via the menu bar at “Community—Career Center.” Through our partner JobTarget, your job will be listed on many sites throughout the Internet.
Through the Career Center you can find people for full time, part time, and project based work.
If you’re looking to hire an intern, you can post it to our Community News bulletin board.
We do not rent out our email list or our mailing list.
However for a reasonable fee, we can send your OD related promotional email to our list. (In other words, you provide us the text for the email, we send out the email.) We call this an "e-ad."
This is a very effective way to promote your event. The cost per mailing is $400 for non-members and $150 for BAodn members. To arrange for your e-ad, please contact us at the BAodn office.
